Saint Obi's marriage took him away from his friends and acting - Movie Producer, Zik Zulu Okafor writes after his death

The family of deceased actor Obinna Nwafor, also known as Saint Obi, has refuted claims that his wife Lynda maltreated him during their marriage. Movie maker Zik Zulu had published an article alleging that Obi’s marriage was troubled and that he had difficulties with his in-laws, who viewed him as a gold digger. The family described the allegations as false, malicious, and insensitive, and said they did not represent the Lynda they knew. They also said the article was not written with their consent or authority and that they disassociated themselves from it entirely.

Zik Zulu claimed that Saint Obi withdrew from everyone, including his colleagues in the movie industry, shortly after his marriage to Lynda. He also alleged that Obi had a running battle with his in-laws. These claims were met with shock from many Nigerians, who took to social media to attack Lynda’s character. However, Obi’s family has denied the allegations and said that they were not an accurate portrayal of the Lynda they know and relate with.

The family’s statement was signed by Obi’s older sisters, Ugoeze Edith Chinyere Obichuku and Mrs. Freda Nwachukwu. They also described Zik Zulu’s article as sad and unfortunate and said that it was not written with any member of the family’s consultation or authority. The views and allegations contained in the article were entirely the opinion of the writer, and the family disassociated themselves from it completely.
