I honestly appreciate everyone involved with nollywood for the good work they are doing. Its only a matter of time for you guys to compete with Hollywood.

I would like to know how to promote my scripts to nollywood producers.Thank you for your help.

Watchman,

The royalty campaign is important for the industry and I would love to do my share in these parts (Kenya).

I know that Nollywood movies have become quite popular here but I see that they are largely bought from street vendors whose supply source is suspect. Do you probably have a list of authorised distributors? I'd be grateful to have one for publicity on this end.

I watch the movies through the AfricaMovieMagic channels of DSTV but would also like to buy a few gems for my library. I proudly add that I have never bought one from the roadside. I would if their source was genuine.

@ Alan: First up, it is not about being near or far from the source; if one is determined to do the right thing, time and distance can be eroded. We all have choices and we exercise it at will. We either consciously choose to wait for it or cut corners. Yes, internet is an option; only if it is legal.

Secondly, I disagree with your conclusion that the statement as you opined was ignorant. Let me be clear on this, because someone buys a picture after recommendation from someone that had illegal access to the picture is not enough justification for the crime. I can only subscribe to the argument if and only if the online source is legal and some kind of royalty accrues to the original copyright owner.

I know that we are in this campaign together to return royalty to the rightful owners; it is also our sincere patronage i believe that will help boost the much cherished momentum that the industry genuinely requires.

Because you have access to legal copies of Nollywood home videos, you look down on us that don't? A lot of us have no other choice. We are far away from home, living in cities that do not have a large Najia population. Other than borrowing these movies from people that have just come back from just back from a trip home, the internet is the only option.

I agree there are others that have access to genuine copies and still decide to buy pirated for various reasons. I am not condoning that behavior. But you have to know we are not all in the same situation.

Saying things like, "you are ... just a saboteur that is out to destroy rather than help build the industry" is pure ignorance. People that watch these movies online share their opinions with others, who in turn go look for specific titles. I know people that have gone and bought movies solely on recommendation from other Nigerians online. This is what gives momentum that keeps the industry going.

@ Stella, this is Nollywood, I hope that is what you meant. If so this is the place and we will try to tell you as much as we know. We can find out for you if we do not know too.
