8th Edition of African Film and Media Content Expo and Market – (BOBTV)

THE 8th edition of African Film and Media Content Expo and Market (BOBTV) will hold from March 15 to 18 at the Ladi Kwali Conference Centre, Abuja Sheraton Hotels and Towers. BOBTV, an acronym for ‘Best of the Best’, is a yearly event that holds in Abuja, Nigeria. It’s held in collaboration with the Nigerian government through the Federal Ministry of Information and Communication’s agency, the Nigerian Film and Video Census Board (NFVCB). BOBTV 2011 is a platform for Ideas, Projects, Exhibitions and market screenings, training and skill acquisition, business, networking, workshops and seminars for media, cultural and audiovisual content industries.
The theme for BOBTV 2011 is New Media. According to the organisers, New Media captures the current realities that face the media content industries worldwide as the high speed digital delivery systems; broadband, fibre optics and Wimax converge on broadcasting in the 21st century. BOBTV 2011 will welcome for the first time, participation from the telecommunications industries. The modules of the four-day event include a forum for filmmakers, a broadcasters convention, distributors convention, a special session on new media, the skill factory comprising the BOBTV University challenge through and others.
