KEN SMART OTUKOYA:

ABOUT KEN:

Hey! His name is Ken! Ken Smart! Just one of those guys you think less of on the street but see him on stage then you realise you just missed a great star. He is a very intelligent professional with creative mind and good sense of humour. This has earned him a place in his company to be MC for special occasions & a public speaker at various events including Men’s Breakfast Meetings. He has been featured in the last 4 editions of the company’s magazine following the success of ‘Anna & Rose’, Taxi for comedian and ‘Variety is the Spice of death’ and ‘Mixed Blessings’. He is very ambitious and quite determined to reach a greater height in his acting career. He was involved in organizing national campus queen beauty contest in his university days at Ife. He loves comedy but am quite flexible with roles .From pastor to gangster, from lover boy to grandfather. Acting is challenging but rewarding for him. His greatest challenge was to dive underneath the Red in the ‘’Ruins of Pharaoh’. He is a committed individual with pride in being dynamic, spontaneous, communicative and extremely charming. Despite this Christ is His first love & other things follow. ‘Heavenwood’ is the limit.

Ken has HUGE talent and most of all he is a brilliant comedian but he can also play serious roles. He is absolutely wonderful to work with as he has real people skills and and is easy-going. His He has put great effort in developing his acting career and is now branching out in directing/ scriptwriting and production. I wish him the very best for his future career.

Ken and I have teamed up to set up our own production company the Nigerian Film Fund. We are currently in the pre-production stage of several exciting projects.

I have worked with Ken twice once on stage and once in a professional murder mystery. Speak to Ken and you get a totally honest warm individual with an admirable sense of right and wrong who will do anything for a friend. Watch him on stage or in a film and he will have you rocking with his own inimitable comedy style. I love the guy and am proud to call him a friend.

It was two weeks ago that I had the boldness to ask Kenny what he does! I was startled when he replied and I quote “I am a practising medical doctor and actively developing my acting career as well”.

I thought I was ” hearing double”! I was momentarily silent in thought and could not hesitate to express my surprise . Be that as it may I wish you excellence .May your greatness be fully released and your destiny fulfilled to the glory of Him who had sent you and WHO will equip you as appropriate.Amen

I have had the great opprtunity of witnessing this gentleman perform and I was simply blown away by his performance.

The irony here was that I did not see him in an acting role (even though I have seen one of his commercials which happens to be very funny). I saw him Speak Publicly at a recent Seminar held in London.

He spoke about rather serious issues around men’s health – but he did it with some much humour and yet the seriousness of the issue was not lost in the humour. We all laughed and learnt at the same time – a very rare skill was on display for all to behold.

If you have the opportunity to see Kenny Speak Publicly – take it with both hands. Simply put – Great Speaker!

The good thing about Ken is that he can cross cultural boundaries in his acting and as such not limited to the African audience and acting environment only. I have had the pleasure of working with him on a of drama presentation, where he added great value both as a producer, director and also as one of the key performers for the drama presentations. WELL DOEN MY BROTHER

  192. bayo david on January 27th, 2010 8:35 am

Johanne of Screen Africa, Cape Town gave me your contact.
    Am Bayo David, a Nigerian Journalist and published novelist from Turffontein, Johannesburg. I seek assistance towards selling movie and sequel rights for my book { for a fee or percentage}
The novel, a thriller\crime true life-inspired story, has humour, suspence and romantic drama. On request, I shall be glad to send the hard copy{the published book} or the manuscript which was recently edited by AEG, New York. It received beautiful comments from reviewers.
It is neccessary to state that without a traditional publisher, visible advert, agent or major distributor, I have so far sold 4,816 copies of the 5,000 copies I self-published early this year.
    Below is its synopsis.

    SYNOPSIS
Judas Duncan, born to a dirt poor family in a fictitious country – whose atmospheric and economic conditions fit South Africa’s – nurtures the dream of becoming a Professor at 25. With the help of his childhood lover who later becomes his wife, he manages to get his PHD in Criminology, and becomes a lecturer.
The grammarian is arrested in classroom one day, handcuffed and made to do eighteen years in prison for a crime he knows absolutely nothing about. While in prison, he gets the shocking news of his wife’s sudden death in a casino. His four years old son now lives with a neighbour.
As soon as he finishes his jail term, he can only think of two things: reunite with his son, and retaliate against the state that put him into jail by printing and distributing his own version of the country’s currency, thereby causing economy breakdown, at the same time mailing self-made letter bombs to judges.
But when the truth finally comes out after a prolong investigation conducted by the criminal minded Superintendent Lucas, Judas realises that his wife is indirectly behind his imprisonment as a result of her unfaithfulness and adultery. But more devastating is the fact that the son he knows as his actually belongs to another man.
Judas, now 65, is instructed by a spirit ministering in his head not to put the gun in his mouth. He manages to overcome the attempt of suicide, finds forgiveness within himself, abandons his ‘son’, and moves far away to begin life afresh as Pastor. He hopes to settle down with a new wife and probably have children.

I shall be greatly encouraged by a reply from you..
    Thanks
    Bayo Rueben David
